With fabulous home cooked food, traditional cask ales, fine wines and real coal fires we offer food Six days a week.

Our Talented Kitchen team create the perfect cuisine from the best selling Jack Pie (Steak and Mushroom), Home Baked Lasagne, Battered Haddock and Chips to a more A la Carte style with the ever popular, Poached Halibut Fillet or Roasted Breast of Duck, from our Specials menu which changes on a regular basis.

We have Specials Nights including Steak Night on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Fish Night on Wednesdays, and both menus include wine. We also offer a 2 course Lunchtime Special at £9.00 available Tuesday - Saturday between 12noon and 2pm. Sundays we offer choice of roasts plus our normal menus.

All our Ingredients are locally sourced where possible, including meat sourced from surrounding farms with fish and vegetables from local wholesalers.

The Jack as it is affectionately known dates back to 1457 and is set in Scammonden on the A640 Rochdale Road, serving the Huddersfield and Halifax surrounding areas as well as the Manchester and Lancashire areas.

We are approx 7 miles from Huddersfield town centre, surrounded by rolling countryside. We are very close to Scammonden Dam, offering a perfect stop off for walkers and The Buckstones with exceptional views of the Yorkshire Moors.

We have plenty of parking in our well lit car parks situated at the side of the pub and areas are accessible to those with wheelchairs. Our large beer garden has views across the Halifax moors.

We often hold special events, including bands, murder mystery nights and discos.

We can cater for any occasion including all types of celebrations, Weddings, Birthdays and Anniveraries.

Hog Roasts are our speciality. We can also accommodate marquee events with the use of our fully equipped outside bar.
